Music in the Air

Middle Wallop Airfield

26 July 2008

Music in the Air, at Middle Wallop Airfield, was a splendid day.    Arguably the best event of the year to date, if only because the weather was so good, there was plenty going on, and a pleasant atmosphere prevailed.    We managed to swell the Clatford Car Club contingent of eleven of the twenty-four vehicles on display, which to my mind was a jolly good show on everyone’s part – thank you.   Present on parade were the Dad’s Army group, practically indistinguishable from the originals. We had a pleasant chat to Pte. Pike during the afternoon!   The flying display commenced with the Red Arrows – slick and accurate, as is their norm.   Amongst the other aircraft in the air it was good to see a Lysander.   Unlikely to be an event in'09, but one for the diary in 2010.

Spanner.

Grand-dads Army Lysander - probably the only flying one left in UK
