MGOC Hursley - 2009 ........ MGOC Cobweb Rally IBM, Hursley Park 8 March 2009 A handful of Solent members took a chance on the weather this Sunday morning, and made their way to the IBM facility at Hursley Park. The MG Owners Club were holding their annual Cobweb Spin Rally – to blow away the closed-season cobwebs! It was a pleasant sunny morning and the clouds kept away until around 11.30, at about which time your scribe crept off and made it home just as the heavens opened. Five Sevens were in the line up, as well as John Pike’s Windsor saloon. A very high percentage of the numerous MG marques were represented, and oh! what splendid condition. Three at least of the normally Solent people were in MGs; Graham Smith was TC mounted, Barry Gundry with his beautiful TF, and a very resplendent MGB. It was good to see CCC member Andy Hunt with his MGA, a car which sadly makes too rare an appearance. Amongst the main MG line up was spotted a very rare YA Tourer - these were rare even in their hay day - and a magnificently restored ZB Magnette. A jolly good morning. Spanner |
