A Drizzly Shuv-Ups !

South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society held it's annual Vintage Show and Autojumble at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park site beside the A3 near Horndean last Sunday.   It was unfortunate that the weather during the preceding week seemed to have kept last years crowds away, but never-the-less the rain kept away until after lunch for those that came on the day.   There was a splendid Autojumble, and your reporter was able to purchase some house points on one of the two plant stalls.

The star of the show must surely have been the 1939 LG6 Lagonda of David Mould.   What a splendid motor, and it looked so 'right'.   The ex Malcolm Campbell (and just about everyone else) Type 35 Bugatti of 1927 also took the writer's eye.

Solent fielded ten cars on it's very small allocated patch.   So small in fact that there was scarcely space to open the doors.   A shame this since there was a completely empty acre just across the path.   However, the Austin Sevens, as usual, attracted a deal of attention.   We were happy to welcome Jon Milne, organiser of the recent A7 Brighton Run, onto our patch with his splendid 1923 Shepherd Neame liveried, scoop scuttle van.

Unfortunately the rains came at around two-thirty, and by three o'clock there was a steady stream of vehicle heading back along the A3.
